Trawler School ACE – After Class Experience
Being book smart and understanding the subject matter is one part of comprehending a new activity. Having practical hands on training and experience contributes immensely to the joy and satisfaction of spending the time learning that activity when applying in a “real time” situation. Many activities require time to learn and then set you off on your own are everywhere; learning to drive, getting a private pilot’s license, scuba diving are examples of being set out on your own to apply what you have learned. Nothing develops confidence and a feeling of accomplishment than executing a newly learned skill under your own guidance and direction. Our Trawler ACE – After Class Experience is the ideal way to accomplish these goals.
The Trawler ACE – After Class Experience was created to give our trawler school attendees the option to experience the joy and freedom of having the Nordic Tug 32 on your own; the essence of what boating and cruising are all about. The boat is yours for four days after successful completion of the US Powerboating BPC and IPC course tests and on-water skills. Your course instructor’s approval of your capabilities will also be a requirement. It is an excellent way to step into the cruising lifestyle and find out if this thing called boating is in your future. In the moderately protected waters of West Grand Traverse Bay, you will be close to our base office and familiar waters. Easy day trips to Suttons Bay, Northport and Elk Rapids marinas are great forays to unfamiliar yet easily navigable. Overnight anchorages are excellent ways to further your anchoring skills and watch protocol. Power Island, Old Mission Harbor, Omena and Bowers Harbor are perfect and protected depending on the weather.
In addition to the experience of furthering your skills, the ACE option is a great way to answer many questions that ultimately will be poised.
- Is a Nordic Tug the boat for you?
- Is boating your thing?
- Is the trawler lifestyle suitable for your lifestyle?
- Is a boat of this size too big, or small and does a different size work better?
We can help with these questions and many others during your stay with us. We’re happy to help and remind you its what we do. Visit the trawler school FAQ’s page or contact us directly or by email should you prefer to talk to a real person.
